Private Estate Railing Restoration

Commissioned by the private client to complete restoration work on the railings at their estate. Replacing and fixing the weathered and eroded, ornate elements of the railing metalwork. The railings had to be gently dismantled and removed from their position to be brought back to the forge to carry out the work. The railings needed completely stripping of paint and rust and then repair work could be carried out to any broken joins, collaring and repousse leaf work to match the original forge work that would have been used to construct the railings. This project required a particular amount of patience and care to undertake the more delicate work and to re-make some of the forged elements.
