Cotswolds Private Residence Balustrade
This commission saw us design, cast and fit a new balustrade running the full length of the client' s main staircase, taking in multiple flights and landings throughout the house.
Once cast, the spindles were finished with a bronze patina, giving them a warm, aged depth that sits comfortably within the character of the home.
Each cast iron spindle was individually set out and fitted, ensuring a tight, consistent line.
With the spindles in place, we fitted the core rail, taking it through each turn and landing to establish the exact line of the staircase. Once fitted, the core rail was 3D scanned on site, capturing every subtle rise, turn and twist with complete accuracy. This scan data allowed a bespoke sapele wood handrail to be made, machined to follow the exact line of the stair — a fluid, continuous run with no need for onsite adjustment or compromise.
