For this project the client required a number of railings and handrails to be made and fitted within a renovated courtyard area leading to the front of the property and down into the basement. The property was now to be used as a wedding venue. The property had pre existing cast iron railings which were dated and unsafe and needed to be replaced and have a singular design reflected throughout. Donkeywell forge worked closely alongside the garden designers and contractors, we were provided with example images of handrails from which we produced a number of hand forged samples for the clients consideration. We also carried out site surveys to accurately measure and assess where the handrails would be fitted. The bespoke handrails were fitted into the stonework and the bases of the spindles traditionally leaded. All ironwork was hand painted the clients desired colour.
