Donkeywell forge was tasked with making a stove backing and log storage for a wood burning stove at a local newly refurbished architectural studio. The clients wanted a sleek blackened, minimal design that was also functional to protect the rear wall from heat as well as provide storage for logs. We produced the entire structure from steel plate, using clean, exact lines to create the sharp, minimalist aesthetic. All ironwork was then blackened and burnished using several finishing techniques, all of which had to be robust in the surrounding heat.
