It was our pleasure to be the chosen ironworkers for this project, as it gave us the opportunity to demonstrate a vast range of historical techniques to create bespoke decorative ironwork. The stair handrails, for example, were heavily forged and textured; then leaded directly into the stonework, as they would have been hundreds of years ago. While for the Juliette balcony, we sand cast decorative bronze rosettes, using an existing casting the client had used in other areas of the property.
We then lightly patinated the bronze to match the old castings. Each bar was lightly textured under our power hammer to add character and to ensure it blended in with the building’s historical aesthetic.
These made to measure garden gates were very well received by our client, and have complimented the manors medieval aesthetic perfectly.
